The society was put together as a way of people sharing knowledge and information within the field of sexuality and relationships. We have developed over time and extended our work to supporting  individuals who may be new into the field of sexuality and relationships by encouraging publications and delivering of symposiums and presentations.

We believe that the society is only as good as its members, and we encourage people to send information and discuss any interesting topics with the rest of the society. SSSSR is for all clinicians, researchers and educators working in human sexuality and relationships who have a link with Sheffield, UK. More formally, the board currently consists of:
